Rev. Angella Beckford Days

Rev. Angella Beckford-Days, a native of Jamaica, West Indies, is the oldest of four children born to her parents, the late Miriam E. Beckford and Carlton E. Beckford, Sr.  Her family immigrated to Paterson, NJ in the late 1970's, where she completed her primary education in the Paterson Public School System.

 

Rev. Beckford Days graduated from Rutgers, the State University with a BS in Nursing in 1989. After graduation, Rev. Days became a U.S. Army Nurse Corps officer.  She served at Fort Gordon, GA.  While living in Augusta, GA, she earned a Masters in Community Nursing and married the Rev. Dr. Jacques Days, MD.  They are parents to four sons and one daughter. They have been blessed with one granddaughter thus far.

 

Rev. Beckford Days was licensed to preach in the AME Church in February 2015 by Presiding Elder Joseph Postell while serving at Adams Chapel in Rock Hill, SC. She received her Deacon's ordination in 2017 and her Elders ordination in 2023, under Bishop Samuel L. Green, Sr. She is a 2024 Graduate of Dickerson-Green Theological Seminary. 

 

Rev. Beckford Days was appointed to her first charge, Thomas Chapel AME, Union, as Co-Pastor with her husband by Bishop Green in 2017 to 2024.  At the 2024 Fall Planning meeting, Bishop James L. Davis appointed Rev. Angella Beckford Days, as the Pastor of Thomas Chapel AME.  She began to serve  as the District Coordinator of the Newberry District WIM in 2020 under the leadership of then Presiding Elder Rev. Dr. M. Charmaine Ragin Merrick.  Under her leadership, the Newberry District WIM established the Rosette D. Gallman Memorial Scholarship which awarded over $8,500 to deserving students over four years. 

Her life verse is 2 Corinthians 9:8 "And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in good work."
