THE INSIDE SCOOP ON THE 7th EPISCOPAL DISTRICT WIM
Northeast Conference WIM Honors Mayor

On November 3, 2020, history was made when the citizens of Florence, South Carolina elected their first black female mayor in the person of Teresa Myers Ervin. Mayor Ervin served on City Council for ten years and has been actively involved in various committees and organizations in the area. It was a logical choice when the Northeast
Conference WIM asked her to be their guest speaker for the NEC WIM 2nd Annual Women’s Day event in March of 2021. This event was held in recognition of the National Women’s History Month and the theme for this year was “Valiant Women of the Vote and Refusing to be Silent.
As part of the program the Northeast Conference Coordinator, the Rev. Drusilla Harvin, and the Dillon District Coordinator, the Rev. Lisa Spears, presented Mayor Ervin with the “The Award of Valiant” plaque. Job well done NEC WIM!
