Rev. Dr. Mary F. Rhodes

Reverend Dr. Mary Rhodes is a native of Orangeburg, SC, and married to Mr. Larry Rhodes. They are the proud parents of two children, three grandchildren, a younger sister, and a niece reared in the home. 

 

Dr. Rhodes is an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She is the President of the Seventh Episcopal District Women in Ministry and offers her services to many other church and community organizations. 

 

She serves as the Friendship African Methodist Episcopal Church pastor in Pinewood, South Carolina (Silver Community).  

 

Dr. Rhodes's religious education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Religion, Allen University, Columbia, SC, Master of Divinity, Payne Theological Seminary, Wilberforce, Ohio, and Doctor of Ministry, Hood Theological Seminary Salisbury, North Carolina.

 

Dr. Rhodes believes in learning and using that knowledge to help others. Her words of encouragement are, "Learn to live; live to learn because quitting is not an option." One of her favorite scriptures is I John 4:4, "You are of God little children and have overcome them, for greater is He that is within you than he that is in the world."
