Reverend Jannie D. Snow

The Reverend Jannie D. Snow is the youngest of nine children of the late James and Della Mae Dukes.  Rev. Snow is married to Brother James Snow and they have three children. They are also the proud grandparents of eleven grandchildren.

 

Rev. Snow attended St. Mark Elementary School and graduated from St. Mark High School, Williamsburg County, in 1974. She is a 1978 graduate of Morris College, Sumter, South Carolina.  In 2017, she received a certificate from the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC), in Atlanta, Georgia.

 

Rev. Snow answered the call from God to preach the Gospel and did her initial sermon in November 2010 and was ordained as a Local Elder in November 2017. Also, Rev. Snow is a member and an Associate Minister of St. John AME Church-Morrisville in Andrews, South Carolina where the Rev. Lowis Dorsey is the Pastor. She has served in various leadership roles in the church such as: Church Clerk, Class Leader, YPD, Church School Teacher, Missionary, and Associate Minister. 

 

In December 2016, after 36 consecutive years of service, Rev. Snow retired from the Williamsburg County Department of Alcohol and Drug Abuse as a DSS Liaison.  She also worked as the Director of Treatment Services, Counselor in charge of the Light House and Clinical Counselor.  Rev. Snow holds multiple certifications addictions counseling, social work when she retired she was the only certified substance abuse professional for the DOT in Williamsburg County.

 

Rev. Snow was the organizer of the only community family “Just Say No Club” in Williamsburg County.  The organization brought resources to the community including a part-time job for at least three students during the summer.  Children and family members were able to go on various field trips that were not possible beforehand.

 

Rev. Snow’s favorite scripture is primarily Philippian 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  However, after battling oral cancer since November 2020 when she underwent a fifteen-hour reconstruction surgery and another eight-hour reconstruction surgery in 2022, her favorite scripture is Psalm 23:4 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me”.

 

Rev. Snow considers herself as a “Nobody called to tell everybody”  that there is hope through Jesus Christ.
