Reverend Patsy Rhett
The Rev. Patsy Rhett is married to Mr. Bennie Rhett. They have three adult children and six grandchildren. She was educated in the public schools of Bowman South Carolina and continued her studies to receive an associate degree in Business. She is an ordained Local Elder and currently serves as the pastor of Good Hope AME Church in Bowman SC. She previously served at Cedar Grove AME Church.
Rev. Rhett has worked for the Solicitor’s Office for the first judicial circuit and for the public school system. More recently she was elected the Mayor of Bowman, South Carolina. Her professional career has led her to many distinct roles. However, as the mayor, she has bridged her faith and service to Town to be an advocate for the needy and bring the Town at the forefront of COVID-19 testing and vaccinations.
She has been an active leader within the AME Church, holding the position of Coordinator, Daughters of Sarah for the Central Conference. She is also active with the Bowman Ministerial alliance and serves at their Treasurer. Rev. Rhett counts of it an honor to serve, but she values her call to preach most of all. Rev. Rhett’s heart to serve community and God in ways that will reach the masses makes her worthy of being called a Jarena Lee Woman of Distinction.
